We spoke with Olly
Olsen at The Office Group, he shared with us the reasoning for TOG’s success so
far, details about The Club and their joint venture with Network Rail.
The Office Group was set up in 2003 and they now have 11
centres, 10 of which are in London and 1 in Bristol.
Olly
tells us “Each of our centres is designed with the location and the client in
mind. We have everything from tattoo artists in Shoreditch to Financial
Consultants in the City and each space is designed to meet their needs”.
It is attention to detail and a deep understanding of
the needs of business (whatever the business) that means The Office Group now
have a turnover in excess of £17 million.
They are also always looking to innovate, hence the
recent launch of their co working, shared space concept, The
Club.
The first location for the Club is at Warnford Court in the City.
They’ve entered into a joint venture with Network Rail to open up five more
Club centres at major train stations in London, starting with Paddington in
Summer 2012. Network Rail want to increase dwell time at stations and having
drop-in workstations helps them to achieve that.
“These are serious places to do work, it’s not a coffee
shop for a bit of downtime” says Olly
“but they’re also places where people can be social and interact with one
another. If they want to”.
From £35 a month Club locations offer laptop anchor
points, privacy for confidential calls, lockers to store valuables, free
printing and scanning, superfast broadband, showers and even an apartment if
you need to stay over.
Membership of the Club will include access to all Club
locations across London.
Olly
sums it up ‘They’re perfect for the business person who doesn’t need a
permanent, fixed location. Who has a few hours or a few days in London a week
and who doesn’t want to try to get their work done in a noisy coffee shop. The
Club provides an environment which is flexible enough to allow people to carry
out their business how and when they want to’.
The Club would also provide the ideal drop-in work space
for employees who travel a lot and need a quiet place to work en route.
With the roll out of
the Club across London, these are clearly exciting times for The Office Group.
We wish Olly and his team every
success and look forward to working with them in the future.
