April 1st 2010
There is no such thing as a standard day in the office of any
organisation. However, on Wednesday 31st of March 2010, the Instant team
had to battle against the elements as a freak fire and flooding accident took
out a BT Exchange in Paddington. This caused all the telephone lines into
our London HQ to go down, but did this stop us working to help our
clients find office space? Most certainly not!
We have a Disaster Recovery plan in place, and we were quickly able to use telephone lines through our IT system. We pooled
all of our mobile phones together to ensure that we could contact our clients
and operators via the phone, but importantly we were still able to take phone
calls from our clients and operators as well. Against the elements we
were able to operate at full capacity meaning we went about our day to day
tasks as normal.
Disaster Recovery is not a buzz term to ignore. Any business of any size should always have a back up plan in place in the event that telephones, the internet or even the office becomes unusable. Talk to the team
- we are able to give advice on solutions to such events and can help keep any
downtime for your organisation to an absolute minimum. We can give you up to date availability on
office space all over the world meaning that if necessary we can have you set
up in a new office in a matter of hours.
We are a free service to all of our clients, so please do not hesitate to get in contact with a member of team in your region.
